Whether you’re new to farming or want to grow your established farm, this free interactive workshop series offers legal education, resources and helps you create a personalized action plan specific to your needs and priorities.
You’ll hear real farmers explain how they overcome challenges and manage risks on their farm while legal experts emphasize the law’s specifics. Farming is complex, but we will give you the legal foundation to get you started and give you peace of mind.
Our curriculum covers 6 core legal areas, including business structures, insurance, employment law, food safety, land purchasing and leasing.
This workshop will give direction when facing critical questions like…
- Should I form an LLC, S corporation, or neither?
- Will I be liable if someone is injured on my farm?
- Is hosting interns on my farm legal?
Get comprehensive legal education, hear local farmers insights, and create an action plan with tangible steps that work for new farmers, existing farmers, farm support persons, and farm educators.
This workshop is a series of 5 90-minute sessions held weekly on Mondays at Noon on the following dates: January 4, January 11, January 18, January 25, and February 1. There will be an optional 30-minute group consultation session at the end of each call.
Can’t make a session? We will record and make them available to you for viewing. We recommend setting aside about 30 minutes before each session for valuable pre-work.
